CASA/GAL Volunteer Recognition Ideas

  • Volunteer recognition event
  • Volunteer tokens of appreciation
  • Birthday cards
  • Date of service cards
  • Holiday cards
  • Electronic cards
  • “Adopt an advocate” program
  • Letters to families and employers
  • Letters from mayor, chief judge, etc.
  • Events hosted by board members
  • Invite them to help interview new volunteers
  • Secure a donated newspaper ad – list their names there during April
  • Host a reception – invite their familles when the volunteers graduate from training
  • Take a picture of each volunteer with the judge at the swearing in – give in a frame
  • Flower pot – “Thanks for helping us grow.”
  • Clock – “Thanks for your time.”
  • Cards and bookmarks made by children
  • Thanksgiving card to the volunteer and his/her family
  • Yard sign – "A great CASA/GAL volunteer lives here."
  • “Volunteer of the Month” – cake and photos to volunteer’s work or home
  • Underwrite the cost of the volunteer attending state or national conference or other relevant training
  • “Lunch on us” – ask local restaurants to donate gift certificates for lunch for volunteers
