California Youth Connection (CYC) is guided, focused and driven by current and former foster youth with the assistance of other committed community members. CYC promotes the participation of foster youth in policy development and legislative change to improve the foster care system, and strives to improve social work practice and child welfare policy.
- Facing Foster Care in Alaska
Facing Foster Care in Alaska (FFCA) is a group of current foster youth and alumni that has formed to make improvements to the foster care system in Alaska.

Foster Care Alumni of America is a national nonprofit association that has been founded and is led by alumni of the foster care system. The mission of FCAA is to connect the alumni community and to transform foster care policy and practice, ensuring opportunity for people in and from foster care.
- FosterClub
FosterClub gives current and former foster youth a way to transform their lives and a forum for raising their voices. Through their FosterClub All-Stars summer internship program, a group of 18-24 year olds gain leadership and public speaking skills through training and experience.Their Transition Toolkit helps youth take inventory of current assets, identify resources and map out a plan. A valuable tool to help youth plan for a life filled with supportive adults is FosterClub’s Permanency Pact.
- Orphan Foundation of America
The Orphan Foundation offers scholarships and grants and a summer internship program in Washington DC.
- Youth Communication
Youth Communication trains teens to write stories for their peers. They publish Represent magazine, written by and for young people in the foster care system.
