Resources for CASA/GAL Program Board MembersWelcome to the National CASA Resource Center for Board Members! Across the country, more than half (57%) of our CASA/GAL programs are private, non-profit organizations governed by a local board of directors. These board members play a key role but all too often, do not have access to information that can enhance and inform their work. We hope to change that by providing you with the necessary resources that will help you build a strong foundation for your local program, a foundation that will support your program’s volunteer advocacy for the abused and neglected children in your community. Along with the resources on this website, you also have a support network that includes both state and National CASA. National CASA assigns a regional program officer (RPO) to each program. Your RPO has a wealth of resources on board development and can assist with all aspects of board development. In addition, 46 state CASA/GAL offices across the country provide technical assistance and support to local programs and their boards. As you represent the CASA program to the community, you want to be proud of the program. Working together, we can insure that will happen. Thank you for volunteering your time and talents to an organization that stands up for the needs and rights of abused and neglected children. |
