Choose from full- and half-day seminars offering an interactive and intensive opportunity to thoroughly explore a topic of choice. Pre-registration for many of the Association Institute sessions is required, and attendance is limited. Register in advance to ensure your spot.

  • Full-day: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. $75 including all session materials and lunch
  • Half-day: 1 - 5 p.m. $40, including all session materials and afternoon snack

Peer Coordinator Service Model

Is your organization ready to meet the challenge of serving every child in need by 2020? Please join us for this full day training based on last year’s National CASA Promising Practice Award winner, the Peer Coordinator Service Model. This method of volunteer advocate support will transform your organization, by increasing staff and volunteer commitment while increasing service quality and quantity to children.

Half-Day Institutes: 1 - 5 p.m.

New Local Program Director Orientation

Designed for local CASA/GAL program directors in their positions for six months or less, this orientation introduces participants to national CASA’s functions and increases their awareness of available resources. The presenters offer information on National CASA’s Standards for Local CASA/GAL Programs, volunteer management, community awareness and working with state organizations. This is an opportunity to learn and network with new colleagues nationwide.

Flex Learning: Blended Online and In-Person Volunteer Training Curriculum

National CASA’s flex learning curriculum is a blended approach to training that combine in-person and online formats. Volunteers spend 15 hours in the classroom and 15 hours doing online and self-guided work. Come learn about the logistics of using this new pre-service training option including best practices for monitoring online discussions and facilitating classroom case studies.

Drugs, Kids, Community and..........CASA

It is no secret that the majority of children that CASA volunteers deal with come from homes where substance abuse is a problem. This workshop provides training to help identify substance abuse, understand the effects illicit drug use has on the newborn, child and adolescent, and realize of how drug use affects all of us.
