Independent Study Edition

Gain access to electronic files of the Independent Study Edition (ISE). This is a set of materials designed to help smaller and more rural programs offer training to volunteers on an individual basis. Other programs may also wish to use these materials as “make up” content if a volunteer misses a chapter during an in-person pre-service training.

Independent Study Edition (ISE) of the Volunteer Training Curriculum (47.1MB self extracting file)
While the National CASA Association and the Curriculum Advisory Committee prefer that CASA/GAL volunteers be trained in a classroom setting, we recognize that it is not always possible to bring together a training group for every session. The ISE was created to meet this challenge.

Independent Study Edition (ISE) Preparation & Debriefing Guide (94.3MB self extracting file)
This document complements the ISE by giving facilitators quick access to the information and materials they will need when convening a face-to-face check-in with those going through an independent study pre-service training program. Facilitators will find preparation alerts, information on where customization may be necessary and tips on debriefing participants on various activities.

Independent study students can access audio/video materials at using the username 11227 and the password ise@#9.
